Mrs. James W. Partlan lays a wreath on the monument. Macomb was one of her ancestors. Mrs. Lloyd DeWitt Smith, president of the Gen. Alexander Macomb Chapter of the U.S. Daughters of 1812 is next to her. The organization partially financed the monument.
