Historic Detroit

Every building in Detroit has a story — we're here to share it

Belcrest Apartments

Opened on Sep 1, 1926 as the Belcrest Hotel, this historic building has been a significant icon in the city of Detroit for nearly a century. With twelve stories of apartments and commercial spaces, the Belcrest towers over the bustling Cass Avenue and the surrounding Wayne State University campus.

Recent renovations have brought forth the forgotten character, from original plasterwork and polished concrete floors, to the original subway tile and cast iron bathtubs.

Through its eleven floors of 139 residential units, the Belcrest features a collection of studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom penthouse suites.

More on this building coming soon.
