Historic Detroit

Every building in Detroit has a story — we're here to share it

Post Intermediate School

Loren M. Post Intermediate School was built in 1930 with a large gym and pool wing added in 1955. The Art Deco syle exterior is mainly red brick with large geometric stone elements between second floor windows.

As many public schools, Post Intermediate closed in the early 2000's due to low enrollment.

Despite it being a large and historically significant building, Post will eventually face the wrecking ball due to the level of deterioration through extensive scrapping and water damage.
