Walter W. Ahlschlager (July 19, 1887 - March 28, 1965)

Walter William Ahlschlager was a prominent Chicago architect.

He was born July 19, 1887, in Chicago and practiced there until 1940, when he relocated to Dallas.

In Detroit, he designed the Detroit Towers and Wagner Baking Co. (now MotorCity Casino Hotel). Among his other designs were the Roxy Theatre and Beacon Hotel and Theatre in New York; the Sovereign Hotel, Davis Theatre, Uptown Broadway Building and Sheridan Plaza Hotel in Chicago; the Carew Tower in Cincinnati; City Place Tower in Oklahoma City; and the Peabody Hotel in Memphis.

He died March 28, 1965, in Dallas at age 77.
