The house at 130 Virginia Park Street was designed by the prominent Detroit architectural firm Malcomson & Higginbotham for Bert Lambert, treasurer of the Clayton & Lambert Manufacturing Company and the Regal Motor Car Company.

The asymmetrical façade features an open porch with a distinctive gabled entrance and a two-story, three-sided bay window. Its dark trim, flaring roof eaves, and small dormer show influences of Prairie School architecture. The porch combines brick piers, concrete detailing, wood brackets, and a pierced screen within the gable, while the formal dark-oak entrance includes a transom and sidelights.
