Built in 1895, the William B. O'Brien House is one of the earliest residences in the Virginia Park Historic District. O'Brien, the original owner, was a wholesale grocer and co-owner with his brother, P. B. O'Brien, of O'Brien and Company.

The two-and-a-half-story Queen Anne/Colonial Revival residence is constructed of brick and rock-faced stone. Its asymmetrical façade features a bowed front bay and an open porch with Ionic columns, along with a Palladian window in the gable and decorative molded brickwork. A matching carriage house remains at the rear of the property.
