George L. Beecher House

George L. Beecher was a prominent Detroit businessman and heir to a substantial dry goods fortune in the late 19th century. In 1893, he commissioned the George L. Beecher House at 5475 Woodward Avenue, a grand residence that reflected both his wealth and Detroit’s era of large Woodward Avenue mansions, few of which are still standing today.
