WWJ had engineer W.A. Jacoby, aka "Radio Jake," respond to the complaints from listeners about interference during the 1930s. He would be dispatched to their home and address the issue free of charge.

The original transmitter used by 8MK to make the first commercial radio broadcast. It is now part of the collection of the Detroit Historical Museum.
