Garland Stove - Moving Day (April 11, 1965)

The Garland Stove turns north onto Woodward Avenue off McNichols on April 11, 1965, as it was relocated from East Jefferson near Belle Isle to the Michigan State Fairgrounds at 8 Mile and Woodward.

All along the 18-mile, nine-hour trek, workers had to lift traffic lights and powerlines up so that the Garland Stove could fit underneath.
