Masonic Temple

According to the Detroit Masonic Temple Library, Archive, and Research Center, the William Gurche Company at 679 Franklin created a scale model of the Temple before construction began in November 1920. This model was later displayed at various locations across Detroit. A photograph of it, taken by Robert Livingstone, was even used for a Detroit Photographic Co. postcard. Notably, the image reveals two knight-on-horseback sculptures intended for the Temple Avenue entrance - features that were never realized.
