Designed by Albert Kahn for Burnham S. Colburn and built 1905-1906. Burnham Standish Colburn (1872–1959) was a notable figure in Detroit's early 20th-century industrial and civic landscape. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to William Cullen Colburn and Mary Augusta Standish Colburn, he was a descendant of Mayflower passenger Myles Standish.
