The Detroit News took out this ad in Broadcasting magazine to celebrate its 16th anniversary and the opening of its new building.

The original transmitter used by 8MK to make the first commercial radio broadcast. It is now part of the collection of the Detroit Historical Museum.

WWJ had engineer W.A. Jacoby, aka "Radio Jake," respond to the complaints from listeners about interference during the 1930s. He would be dispatched to their home and address the issue free of charge.

A trade ad for W8XWJ, WWJ's "little brother." The station broadcast from the top of the Penobscot Building. Today, the station is known as WXYT-FM (97.1 FM, The Ticket).
